Educating yourself about the issues that are taking place in Africa is part of the first step to making a difference. Once you know what's going on, you are in a much better position to make informed choices about contributing. You also become an advocate for the men, women and children in Africa by spreading the word about what you know.

You can make a direct contribution to the Bishop Asili Clinic through The Just Like My Child Foundation -- a California-based 501c3 charitable organization. Your donations will be tax deductible.
 
$30 can feed an orphaned newborn for three months
$50 can buy five bed nets to protect infants and other weak patients from malaria-carrying mosquitoes
$100 can pay for non-resistant malaria medications for 14 children
$500 can pay for nutrition, hygiene, reproductive education classes that empower women and give them a voice where they have non now.
$1000 will make a significant contribution towards a generator that will enable equipment to be sterilized, water to be pumped, and enable health care workers to deliver babies safely and in a sterile environment.

Your contribution will be sent directly to The Bishop Asili Clinic in Luwero, Uganda. I will send you updates biweekly on the progress of the clinic, photos of the children, interviews with Sister Ernestine so that you can see exactly where your money is going.
